Sometimes when looking at a painting, you get the urge to reach out and touch it; to feel the texture, the layered paint strokes beneath your fingertips and that’s the case with this collection. Exploring depth and the richness of colour, again the sea and sky inspired me. I varied the colour palette depending on my mood, hoping to ignite the feelings of reflective contentment that I had when painting. In some paintings I’m transported to hot sun kissed summer days at the beach, in others I’m lost looking at a stormy sea, mesmerised by the repetitive sound of waves crashing on the shore.
