I'm inspired by skies and seas, both of which have the ability to rage or expose ethereal beauty.  My art looks at the opposing energies that we have inside of us and through texture, colour and layering and removing paint I create work that brings a sense of euphoric calm and peace.  

The texture in my paintings allows the viewer to get lost in exploring the artwork, connecting and celebrating the coexistence of different emotional and energetic states.   Colour excites and energises me, allowing me to create movement and depth, whilst the process of layering and removing paint enables me to reveal a beauty in that which isn't always traditionally recognised as beautiful.  

Ultimately my wish is to create artwork that sparks a strong emotional connection in the viewer and I love hearing what associations they find.
